Porsche’s New SUV is the Macan – Coming in 2013

 

Porsche is set to deliver a new SUV vehicle in 2013. The Porsche Macan is the fifth model in the automaker’s portfolio and the first to come off their newly revamp production line in Leipzig which includes “a fully-fledged production plant including body assembly line and paint shop.”

 

The name “Macan” itself is a word form from the maker that follows their tradition of linking vehicle names with their corresponding characteristics: “The name Macan is derived from the Indonesian word for tiger and combines suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics – core characteristics of the new off-road car.”

McLaren duo Lewis Hamilton & Jenson Button pumped up for F1 campaign as they launch the MP4-27

 

LEWIS HAMILTON and Jenson Button adopted a different approach to their winter regime in a bid to again become Formula One world champion.

Stevenage racer Hamilton has aimed to get his mind right after the public issues that hampered him on and off track last season.

 

For Button, approaching his 13th season in the sport, the 32-year-old has cottoned on to employing specialist nutritional advice and reckons a diet of steak and eggs will give him that extra edge.

Hamilton appeared liberated on his first day back in the spotlight since the end of last season as McLaren unveiled their new challenger for the coming campaign, the MP4-27.

 

The genuine article was on show at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking – a far cry from the tormented soul that suffered over last season’s closing stages.

Numerous on-track incidents and accidents were compounded when he split from long-term girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.

 

Just over two months on and the 27-year-old has now wrestled with the demons in his mind following a winter in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

Hamilton said: “I feel fresh. I had a good winter. The team gave me a good bit of time off after such a long season and obviously we went through a lot.

 

“But it was just a fantastic winter where I got to spend time with friends and family and I was able to let loose.

“Then I got into quite an intense training regime, sitting down in between times where I analysed the year and certain things in my personal life which weren’t good.

 

“I went about correcting those things and now I feel great in my mind and free of any of the burdens that I had on me.”

Hamilton has vowed to keep as much personal issues out of the public domain as possible and instead focus on racing.

 

After being trounced by Red Bull’s double world champion Sebastian Vettel last year, and in particular losing to a team-mate for the first time in his single-seater career, there was a steely determination about him.

 

He said: “I want to win every race and I think I can.

“I have the ability to. If the car is where we hope there’s no reason why we can’t do that.

“The only thing that gets in your way is your own mind and your own insecurities.

“The most important thing is to put those things aside and to overcome them.

“So I feel right. I feel stronger than I was a few months ago but even more so than I was at the start of last year.”

Button admitted on a mental level “nothing had changed” as he was “pretty happy at the end of last year”.

 

Instead, to gain the slender advantage this year that can make all the difference in F1, Button will turn to a great British staple – a cooked breakfast.

In tandem with Befit Monaco, an exclusive specialist training and dietary centre for elite performers, Button said: “We’ve been working on nutrition and things like that.

 

“It sounds crazy but when you are at the top of any sport you’ve got to look for anything, to run through different things.

“It can keep you positive and in the right frame of mind for the time you need it within the car and also out of it.

“You’d think it’s easy not to have fat and things like that but it’s hard for certain people.

 

“So a full English is not a bad thing for me actually. Steak and eggs is the best thing for me for breakfast.
“It’s all going well. I’m enjoying it. It has been a lot of fun.”

 

Button will sample the car for the first time on the opening day of the initial pre-season test in Jerez on Tuesday, with Hamilton having to wait until Thursday.

Bajaj RE 60: Bajaj Mini Four-Wheeler Features & Photo’s

Bajaj Auto​ on Tuesday unveiled its most awaited small car the RE 60 an ultra-low cost car. The company claims that the car would have a mileage of close to 40 km per litre and will have an 800 cc engine.The low-emission car was developed in partnership with Nissan and Renault.

Bajaj has been working with Nissan Motor Co and Renault SA​ on a project to develop what was originally planned to be an ultra low-cost minicar. Bajaj and Renault-Nissan had announced the formation of a joint venture in May 2008. The project ran into hiccups over branding, product detail and concept issues.

France’s Renault SA and Japan’s Nissan Motor Co will decide on any future engagement with India’s Bajaj Auto Ltd on the company’s new four-wheeled vehicle after this weekend’s auto event in New Delhi, Bajaj Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said.

The engine is a new water cooled DTSi 4 (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) valve and would give a maximum speed of 70km per hour.

The car has a seating capacity of four people. It has been designed and developed fully by Bajaj Auto and not with Renault or Nissan Motors.The RE 60 has body coloured bumpers and funky wheels. The interiors get a central speedometer cluster, folding front windows, 44-litre boot space, 95-litre under seat storage and prominent seatbelts in cabin.It is also available in fuel injected CNG variant.

Bajaj Auto is known for its two wheelers and three-wheelers. The company is making a four-wheeler for the first time.
